How Sufism, the core of Islam, is divided into two distinctive branches characterised by whether someone has Sifati Noor (Divine Energy of God’s Attributes) or Zaati Noor (Divine Energy of God’s Person).
This video is in Urdu.
Main points:
- The Religion of Islam is not to be found in books. If anyone knew the religion today, they would not be Shias, Sunnis or Wahhabis. Islam is not to be found in the Quran; the Quran we see today in the form of a book doesn’t even have the Quran in it. The real Quran is that which was revealed onto Prophet Mohammad’s heart. You must obtain connection to Prophet Mohammad.
- Sufism has two branches: Wehdat ul Wajood and Wehdat ul Shahood. People of Wehdat ul Wajood get benevolence from the divine energy of attributes of God (Sifati Noor), whereas people of Wehdat ul Shahood get benevolence from the divine energy of God’s Person (Zaati Noor). All the prophets were given specific names of God to bless their followers with; Prophet Mohammad was the only one who got God’s Personal Name, so he was the only one who saw God. People of Wehdat ul Wajood cannot see God.
- People of Wehdat ul Wajood can see Noor (divine energy) of God’s attributes (Sifat). Wherever they see this Noor, they say, ‘This is God’. This is why in Hindu spiritualists said that they saw God in a generous person, a mother, and even cows or monkeys. God has granted parts of his attributes to different creation; what these spiritualists saw were God’s attributes in action. People of Wehdat ul Shahood do not see God in common creation, because the common creation does not have God’s Zaati Noor. If you ask a person of Wehdat ul Wajood where God is, they will say that God is everywhere. If you ask a person of Wehdat ul Shahood, they will say that God is far away, because they are referring to the Person of God, not his attributes.
- God is in Alam-e-Ahdiyat (The Realm of Oneness), situated on his throne. People of Wehdat ul Shahood are able to witness God’s beauty from Alam-e-Wahdat, but no one can cross into Alam-e-Ahdiyat. When they see God, it is like standing at a border and looking across. Prophet Mohammad is stationed at Moqam-e-Mehmood which is also in Alam-e-Wahdat; this is his culmination.
