Aurat Ko Maarna Islam Ki Nazar Mein | By Younus AlGohar

#AskYounusAlGohar - Is beating your wife permissible in Islam?

HH Younus AlGohar explains a verse from Koran which is commonly misunderstood amongst the Muslim nation.

Main Points:

- There are many issues related to this topic that require attention. If the Koran is read without context then it is just misguidance; you will not understand the background story and how it connects to this day and age.

- The best explanation of the Koran are the actions of Prophet Mohammad. Prophet Mohammad modelled the Koran, however, sadly the scholars wrote certain things in the explanation of the Koran which are not proven by the actions of Prophet Mohammad yet they have become widely accepted as part of the religion.

- The verse which mentions hitting your wife is very subjective; it is not a command of God, rather a piece of advice to use as the very last resort. If God had ordered to hit your wife then Prophet Mohammad, the model of the Koran, wouldn't have ignored God's command.

- Prophet Mohammad has the most sublime and generous character, he never raised his hands on any of his wives whereas any other man would have skinned some of them for the way they behaved.
