Your Relationship with God and the World

The following is an excerpt from His Holiness Younus AlGohar's speech. His Holiness is the Official Representative of Lord Ra Riaz

Your meeting with God and your relationship with God will totally depend on purity and strength of your heart. The stronger your heart is, the stronger your relationship with God is. How good the relationship will be between you and God will depend on how strong your heart is. How strong your heart can be will depend on how much divine light is accumulated in your heart. How much light can be accumulated in your heart will depend on how frequently your heart recollects the name of God. You will behave with God really well when your heart is strong.

How you behave with people will depend on how pure your Nafs (Ego/Self) is. In your relationship with God, your heart will play a pivotal role; in your relationship with the world, your Nafs will play a pivotal role. The worse the condition your Nafs is in, the worse relation you will have with the world.
If your behaviour with the Lord is genuinely okay, then your behaviour with your fellowmen will definitely be okay. If your behaviour with people is bad but your behaviour with God is good, it simply means your behaviour with God is fake. Do you know why?
The condition of your Nafs is directly proportional to the condition of your heart. Your heart will be as pure as your Nafs. If your Nafs is not pure, your heart is not pure.
Your behaviour with God will depend on the purity of your heart and your behaviour with people will depend on the purity of your Nafs. If your Nafs is good, your heart will be as good as your Nafs. Those who appear to be nice to God but are not nice to people are faking it; they are not nice, factually and actually.

I had already said in previous lectures: if your Nafs is Lawwamma (The Repenting Self), your heart has to be Qalb-e-Saleem (The Secured Heart). It is not possible that you see progress in elevation of the state of your Nafs but you do not see progress in elevation of your heart. Your heart will be at the same level of your Nafs. It is not possible that your Nafs is Lawwamma and your heart is Shaheed (The Witnessing Heart). If your Nafs is Lawwamma, your heart is Qalb-e-Saleem. If your Nafs is Ilhama (The Inspired Self), your heart is Qalb-e-Muneeb (The Heart Turned Towards God). If your Nafs is Mutma’inna (The Divinely Content Self), your heart has to be Qalb-e-Shaheed (The Witnessing Heart). Side note: you can learn more about these different stages in The Religion of God (Divine Love).
Those who love God but hate human beings are liars. One who genuinely loves God, the state of his Nafs shall never allow him to hate human beings.
One who loves God has to love humanity. He doesn’t need to make an effort because it is automatic. If you see people ‘loving’ God and spending money in the name of God - but when they are walking in the street, they see people in need and don’t help them even if they are able to - it is not spirituality. Their spiritual progression has come to a halt. It is impossible that you love God but you don’t love his creation. It is impossible that you love humanity but you don’t want to see God. You will only love humanity truly and genuinely when you genuinely and truly love God.
Loving humanity is the side effect of loving God.
We have seen all our lives that when people are in the presence of the Lord, they are so nice to the Lord as if they are angels. [But when they leave the presence of the Lord, they behave rudely with others]. When they were being nice to the Lord, it was not genuine. They were faking it.

For example, if everybody is crying because somebody died, even if you don’t feel like crying, because you fear somebody will say, 'He's not sad; he's not crying!' you fake it.

If you are nice to the Lord but not to a common man, you were faking being nice to the Lord.
If you are genuinely nice to the Lord, you will definitely be genuinely nice to a common man.
