Younus AlGohar answers a question from a viewer who wanted to know how to recognise whether one’s heart is spiritually alive or not.

Summary:

- Your heart cannot be revived on its own, no matter how many good deeds you do. None of your own efforts can awaken it. It is the Spiritual Guide who awakens the heart.

- HDE Gohar Shahi explains that if someone is unaware of the properties of a chicken egg, they will never believe that the egg would one day fly and chirp. Just as there are chicken eggs, there is also a Terrestrial Egg In every human being. The chicken egg has three layers upon it and the Terrestrial Egg has 180 000 layers on it. In order to hatch the egg, you need a hen who will give it heat. To hatch the Terrestrial Egg, you need a Spiritual Guide who will give it the appropriate amount of divine energy according to the heart of the person.

- When the chicken egg hatches, a chick comes out and it begins chirping without being taught to do so because chirping is in its nature. Similarly when the angel will come out from the Spiritual Heart, you won't have to teach it anything. It will immediately start to make mention of God's name because this is in its nature.

- The sign of the heart being alive is simply that it be engages in invocation of God's name. You will be sleeping and God's name will be resounding in the beating system of your heart. The heart is only awakened with the spiritual concentration of a Spiritual Guide. And those who engage in verbal invocation of God's name without reviving their hearts are simply wasting their time.

- There are 180 000 layers upon the heart: 30 000 of lust, 30 000 of covetness, 30 000 of arrogance, 30 000 of jealousy and 30 000 of grudges. The Spiritual Guide first removes these layers; he burns them with his spiritual concentration. Then he revives the heart.
