Younus AlGohar answers this question by explaining that gratitude is not something which is expressed in words, rather, it is a feeling which is present in the heart of one who is aware of God’s mercy and blessings. One who is always grateful to the Lord and is obedient to the Lord is then elevated even further in spirituality and is granted ‘Tawwakul’ (total reliance and dependance on God), which is greater than gratitude.
