Unlocking Your Spiritual Potential

Self-realisation is a very profound subject, because your Self has different dimensions. You are not a single soul living; you’re a multi-spiritual being. Discovery of each soul has its own respective realisation, so self-realisation is a multi-layered realisation.

Not everybody is fully aware of who he is. They may have gone through vigorous spiritual austerities and acquired higher stages and statuses in spirituality, however when it comes to measuring the volume of self-realisation, it has always been incomplete.

In self-realisation, you start with your Carnal Self (Nafs) and you purify it. Then you come to know the purpose and use of this soul in you. You learn exactly what you should do to make it functional in your body.

Each soul has different functions. Some functions help you with your physical body and other spiritual functions will help you progress in your spiritual journey.
Knowing what functions one respective soul has is the realisation of what you have. For example, you may have a car, but if you don’t know what you use the car for, you don’t have car-realisation.
The Carnal Self is in your body but you do not know its functions. Realisation begins when you activate this particular soul that lies inactive in you, when you’re fully aware of its abilities and capabilities; not just that, but also you know how to master your Carnal Self, how to use it and how to perform spiritual journeys with it.

Realisation will go further up once you have attained the utter spiritual purity and cleansing of your Carnal Self. From there, you progress toward the purification of your spiritual heart. Having purified and revived the spiritual faculty of the heart, you will then come to know its functions.

Most Sufis only know about revival, awakening and enlightenment.
Lord Ra Riaz Gohar Shahi doesn’t only talk about the enlightenment, revival and purification; Lord Ra Riaz also teaches the functions of the spiritual heart. He tells you exactly what you can do with the help of the spiritual heart.
For example, Lord Ra Riaz oftentimes talks about the first function of the spiritual heart as being a telephone operator when it is fully enlightened. You will be able to be in contact with God via one of the functions of the spiritual heart.
Your heart will become a mouthpiece with which you will be able to communicate with God.
Realisation is about obtaining enlightenment, purification, revival and on top of that, the usage. If you know what it is but you cannot use it, what is the point? In my understanding, the spiritual calibre of knowing and utilising the functions is realisation of the self.

There are seven souls in you. You should know what each soul can do for you, how each soul will push you towards God and what level of spiritual journey can be performed with what individual soul.
All these souls have their own functions; becoming a master and being able to learn all the functions is complete realisation of the self. You are not confined to your Carnal Self; your main self is your soul.
You should know what your soul can do, what your spiritual heart can do, what Sirri (The Most Obscure) can do and what Akhfah (The Most Hidden) can do.

Revival and enlightenment is one thing, but then to be able to use the souls well according to their purpose is true realisation.

For example, if your Akhfah is enlightened and you also know the functions, then you don’t need a telephone. You’ll just think about someone, you’ll speak and that person will hear you no matter where he is.

There were no loudspeakers in the past. People say that there used to be 70 000 attendees who would come to the lectures of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (a renowned Sufi). There was no system of loudspeakers or sound system; even then, every single person in his attendance would clearly hear his speech. People declared it a miracle. It is a miracle, but nothing just happens without a system, even miracles. Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani would lessen the usage of his tongue and increase the amount of his Akhfah; so on a distance, people would hear him well. However, this was a one-time miracle.

We have seen more miracles than this in every speech delivered by Lord Ra Riaz Gohar Shahi. There was no sound system, yet Lord Ra Riaz would be speaking and [His voice] would be echoing. This was the Akhfah.

Most spiritualists from different religions only know about enlightening and reviving the souls; they are not aware of what you can do with the souls. Through the Goharian Philosophy of Divine Love, we learned the functions of the souls.
To summarise: there are seven respective souls in the body. Enlightening, awakening and purifying them, making them functional and reaching your destination with the help of these functions is the main thing. This is complete self-realisation.
