Younus AlGohar answers a viewer’s question about the meaning of ‘Wali-Murshid’ and ‘Peer’.
Main points:
Koran 18:17 uses the term ‘Wali-Murshid’ together. According to the laws of spirituality, not every saint is a Spiritual Guide, but every Spiritual Guide must be a saint of God. No saint becomes a Spiritual Guide of their own will; they are appointed by God to render guidance and granted the knowledge of Muarifat.
The reason the Koran mentions the term ‘Wali’ (saint) first and then ‘Murshid’ (Spiritual Guide) second implies that the Spiritual Guide is actually an upgraded version of a saint. He has God’s friendship and a connection with God and he also has the ability to connect people to God and obtain benevolence from him.
‘Peer’ is not a spiritual term. It is a Persian word which refers to an elderly person. For quite some time in India, Persian was widely spoken. Due to the Persian influence, Muslims in India began to use the word ‘Peer’. The word ‘Peer’ has no significance in spirituality – rather, spiritual dignitaries are referred to as Faqir’, ‘Kamil Dhaat’, ‘Kamil Mumaat’, etc.
In the Indian subcontinent, Salat is also known as Namaz – however, the term Namaz is not recognised in the Arab world. The original word is ‘Salat’, but ‘Namaz’ means the same thing. Similarly, when someone says, ‘Peer-e-Kamil’ it refers to a Perfect Spiritual Guide – although this is not in itself found in spiritual terminology.

Younus AlGohar explains how Allah makes one a Friend (Wali) of Allah (swt).
Main points:
- There is a large group of Muslims who become enraged as soon as the names of saints are mentioned. And they place fatwas of innovations and Shirk and infidelity upon you themselves just because you said you love a certain saint and you respect the saints of God. The interesting thing is that God has mentioned his friendship in the Koran in lengthy details.
- The philosophy of the Koran tells us that there are two types of saints: Divine Saints and Satanic Saints. Why are they called saints? Saint means friend and a friend is one who is close to you. If you are close to God, you are a saint of God and if you are close to the Devil, you are a saint of the Devil.
- If you ask a scholar how you can become a saint of God, they will first laugh at you and then lecture you about offering Salat fives times a day. Whereas, His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi simplified Spirituality, it is as easy as 2+2=4.
- The secret to God's friendship begins with Opening of the Spiritual Heart. This is the first step and after that one is able to converse with God, however, that is the lowest level of sainthood. True sainthood begins with Seeing God. When a person sees God, they are showered with God's theophanies which burns away the past, present and future sins.

#AskYounusAlGohar - What is the difference between Muslim, Momin and Wali?
Main Points:
- A Muslim is one who is known by the title of Sunni, Shiite, Wahhabi etc.
- A Momin (enlightened believer) is one who has Divine Light in the heart and is simply called a follower of Prophet Mohammad. A Momin loves Prophet Mohammad and all the worships a Momin carries out are full of virtue and salvation. A Momin never breaks a heart because it constantly repeats the name of God.
- Koran: A Momin is one whose heart engages in the remembrance of God while standing, sitting and sleeping.
- A saint is one in whose presence your heart begins to echo with the name of God.
On the 23rd of January, 2015, a team from Mehdi Foundation India visited the Nizamuddin Dargah (mausoleum) to propagate the teachings of HDE Lord Ra Gohar Shahi Imam Mehdi. Delegates distributed many leaflets bearing the images of the Awaited One on the Moon, Sun and Holy Black Stone. A large majority of aspirants took interest in our message and wanted to learn more about the Goharian Philosophy of Divine Love.
At the Haji Ali Dargah, the mausoleum of Sufi Saint Peer Haji Ali Shah Bukhari (located in the Southern part of Mumbai), a delegation from Mehdi Foundation International India set out to propagate the revolutionary message of His Divine Eminence Ra Gohar Shahi. People of all ages, regardless of their race, colour, cast or creed happily accepted the teachings of Divine Love and Global Unification. Recipients of our message were also granted invocation of the heart 'Allah Hu', as well as free spiritual healing.
On the 21st of April, 2014, a delegation from Mehdi Foundation International India visited the Nizamuddin Dargah (mausoleum) of one of the world's most famous Sufi saints, 'Nizamuddin Auliya’, situated in the Nizamuddin West area of Delhi.
Thousands of Muslims, Hindus, Christians and people from other religions accepted the revolutionary message of His Divine Eminence Ra Gohar Shahi. The presenters from MFI India recited Naats and explained to seekers the method of loud chanting of the name of God and the benefits thereof. Afterwards, the presenters showed the divine signs of HDE Ra Gohar Shahi on the Moon, the Sun and the Holy Black Stone and the aspirants were granted invocation of the heart of 'Allah Hu'.
In this eye-opening lecture, His Holiness Younus AlGohar explains the true meaning of 'Hayat al Dunya' in light of Batini Ilm (Esoteric Knowledge). He notes that to be 'Hayat al Dunya' is not just to be engaged in worldly pursuits, but also to be satisfied with confining oneself to the Zahiri Ilm (Exoteric Knowledge) and exoteric forms of worship.
