- Since the advent of His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi, the method of spiritual progress and growth is slightly different. This is the final call of divine love. The message of His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi is for all humanity. With the advent of Prophet Mohammad, prophethood ended; similarly, with the advent of Imam Mehdi, sainthood ended. After prophethood ended, the saints carried out the job of the prophets. Now that sainthood has ended, the followers of Imam Mehdi Gohar Shahi will do their jobs.
- A saints job is to connect a specific group of people to God by reviving their hearts. A man came to His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi and said, ‘I want to pledge allegiance to you.’ His Divine Eminence replied, ‘I have not come to make disciples; I have come to make people into saints.’ This doesn’t mean the followers of Imam Mehdi Gohar Shahi will become saints; rather, it means they will carry out the job the Saints would do.
- There are some saints who are known as Munfarid (unique). They are connected with God and they are friends with God, but people cannot imitate them to obtain guidance. Mufeed saints are the saints who are connected to God and they have been appointed to guide people. They render spiritual benevolence and should be imitated. There is another category of people: the Mustafeez. They are people who have not become saints yet, however, they rendering spiritual benevolence and obtaining it at the same time.
- The followers of His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi fall under this category of those who are rendering and obtaining spiritual benevolence (Mustafeez). The followers of His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi are dependant upon His Divine Eminence for their spiritual benevolence. The spiritual progress of a follower of His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi does not depend on his worship of the number of times he invokes upon God. Rather, their progress in spirituality depends on their propagation of His Divine Eminence’s office of Mehdihood and the divine signs. By doing so, they come under the spiritual concentration of His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi, which is far greater than anything they could have earned through worship and invocation themselves.
